When Manchester United agreed to a deal with Italian Serie A side Atalanta for the transfer of youngster Amad Diallo to Old Trafford, some thought it was a wasteful buy. However, others who already carried out research about him and watched a few of his clips while playing for Atalanta immediately knew that the Red Devils were getting themselves a future star.
Diallo announced himself onto the scene when he came on against AC Milan in the Europa League first-leg clash at Old Trafford some weeks ago. He would come on to hand United the lead within less than fifteen minutes of his introduction. Since then, even though he has not been handed much game time with the first team, he has been flourishing for the reserves team.
In the young Red Devils’ recent match against Chelsea, Diallo was once again a star performer. The youngster guided the Manchester United youth team to a comeback win against their rivals and he also scored a sensational free-kick goal that would surely please the first-team manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær.
Solksjær is reportedly allowing Diallo to play with the Under-23 set-up so he can get more integrated and get more game time that he may not yet get with the senior squad. And it looks as though the youngster is grabbing his opportunities with both hands after his recent star performance earned his team a much-needed 4-2 win against the young Blues.
